The Monstars have a dynamic duo in Demaja Dunston and Gerry Rose. Both of these players were named players of the week by 570 Sports throughout the regular season. Despite the seemingly powerful offense for the Monstars, the 570 Sports Dream Team also has a loaded team with both height and depth. Some key players to watch out for on the Dream Team are Ryan minor and Matt Godlewski. Both players are extremely elusive and put up points like they’re nothing. Each team consists of nine players and as stated before, the games will take place at 6 p.m. on both Wednesday and Friday. Gerry Rose is an all-around athlete. Gerry has been playing basketball for the good majority of his life and his talent is becoming very clear. Gerry currently is an 8th grader attending Riverside Middle School and he is one of the best players there. Gerry Rose is not the only athlete in his family as his younger sister Kayla Rose is also a great basketball player. Gerry’s potential is very large and is growing by the day. Gerry will likely continue to play basketball for the Riverside Vikings high school team next year, where he will try to make a name for himself. Gerry normally plays either point guard or shooting guard but excels wherever he is put at because of his leaping abilities and his quickness. Gerry can space the floor and knock down 3’s very consistently. As seen in the photo below, Gerry is already developing hops and once he gets to high school, he’ll be dunking in no time. Matt Godlewski is one of the star players for the 570 Sports Dream Team. Matt is a tall shooter and he knows how to put up points. Jaheam Roberts is a stud. Jaheam is one of the most dominant players and the 570 Sports dream team is lucky enough to have him on their side. Jaheam has many great aspects to his game, but the most noticeable thing is his height advantage. Jaheam is very tall compared to most kids his age and because of that, he can hold his own in the paint. Additionally, Jaheam has a  fantastic shot and he can get baskets from anywhere inside the arc. The Girl All-Stars:

The girl’s all-star teams are team Muggsy and team Swerve. Just like the boy’s all-star teams,  the girls also have what appears to be a more dominant team. The team that seems to be the favorite before the game is team Swerve. Team Swerve consists of many great players but has three names that stick out particularly. These three names are Maya Jenkins, McKenzie Chinook, and Alyvia McLaughlin. All three of those girls earned their spot as a 570 Sports player of the week during the regular season. Although those three girls will be the center of attention, you must keep an eye out for two of the youngest players who will be taking the court. These players are Malice Blackwell of Team Swerve and Emily McGowan from Team Muggsy. Both of these girls are extremely gifted athletes and played together at Dunmore. Again, Team Swerve appears to be the team to beat but team Muggsy is also very packed with talent. A couple of the most feared players that could lead the way for team Muggsy are Cam Greenfield and Grace McCormack. Those two girls do a very good job of involving their teammates and they can score very well to top it off. All in all, the All-Star games that will be played between the girl’s teams will be very  fun to watch  and they will certainly highlight some key players to watch out for come playoff time. Just like the boy’s all Stars, there will be descriptions of some of the main athletes to watch out for in these upcoming games below.

McKenzie Chinook: Team Swerve

Mckenzie is one of the most standout players in the 7th grade and she plays for Riverside.  Mckenzie has been one of the most coachable players out there and because of that, she has developed a very good basketball IQ.  One of the most powerful pieces of Mckenzie’s game is her confidence. It is very noticeable when watching Mckenzie play that she feels comfortable within her own game.  Mckenzie has done a great job to lead her team to success and that’s because of her competitive edge. Mckenzie is one of the best leaders on her team and she knows exactly how to push her teammates to perform at their highest level.  Mckenzie is an all-around great player and another one of her top skills is her great court vision.  Mckenzie knows how to find an open teammate and when she does she can throw a dime. On top of being one of the leading playmakers on the team,  Mckenzie’s shot is very well-developed and she is relatively tall for her age.  In conclusion,  Mckenzie has many bright aspects to her game and she likely will have a very lustrous future.

Maya Jenkins: Team Swerve

Maya Jenkins is an 8th grader at OLP and she is a multi-sport athlete. Maya plays basketball and soccer and receives a lot of attention in both. Maya has all the key characteristics to become a star and she is entering that time frame in which she will begin to stand out more than others. Maya is currently an 8th grader and it’s yet to be determined where she will go to high school. The most likely option for Maya is Scranton Prep as it is one of the only private schools in her area. Wherever Maya goes, she will be treated very well because most coaches praise her talents consistently. Two key aspects of Maya’s game are her athleticism and her scoring abilities. Maya always finds a way to get open and she takes advantage of that with her high scoring average. Maya has recently found herself as the player of the week in the 570 Sports basketball league after dropping 17 points in a victory over Riverside. All in all,  Maya Jenkins has a lot to bring to the floor and keep an eye out for where she goes to high school because she is destined to make a significant impact.Maya Jenkins is an 8th grader at OLP and she is a multi-sport athlete. Alyvia McLaughlin: Team Swerve

Alyvia is in the 7th/8th grade division and she plays for Wyoming Valley Clutch.  Speaking of a clutch, Alyvia has been known to deliver the nail in the coffin in most games and she has consistently led her team to great wins. Alyvia has been recognized as a team leader and the best part of her game is her offense. Alyvia’s offense is undeniably fantastic and she certainly knows how to score. In Alyvia’s previous game, she knocked down four three-pointers and played an all-around, excellent game as she led Wyoming Valley Clutch to an impressive win. On top of Alyvia’s ability to knock down shots from deep, she can also drive to the hoop very well. Every game Alyvia has played in, she puts up an outstanding amount of points, ultimately leading her team to victory. Alyvia will go into high school next season and she will look to make her mark quick. Considering how well Alyvia has played in the past seasons as well as this season, she will be a very threatening player on the court in the future, so everyone better watch out.

Emily McGowan: Team Muggsy

Emily McGowan is a standout 6th grader from Dunmore. Emily is one of the youngest players on the All-Star team and she is very deserving of the spot. Emily has many accelerated aspects of her game but some of the most convincing things are her spot on a jump shot and her confidence with the ball. Emily is overall a great athlete and she is one of the best players of her age. Although Emily is a good player, she is still young and has a lot of developing to do. It is definitely accurate to say that Emily will improve a bunch in the next few years and it will be a lot of fun to watch her talent develop.

Claire McGrath: Team Muggsy

Claire McGrath is a very talented basketball player who attends Northeast. Claire has been noticed by many coaches for her court vision as well as her ability to score. One of the most impressive aspects of her game though is her ability to get to the rim. Claire can always weave her way through traffic and work her way to the rim, which is very impressive. To top everything off, Claire has an astounding jumpshot that will shock any defender. In conclusion,  Claire is a very threatening player and she can tear it up all over the court.

Brooke Kroptavich: Team Muggsy

The final athlete to watch out for in the All-Star game is Brooke Kroptavich. Brooke is another talented player who will be playing for team Muggsy in this All-Star Game. Brooke is certainly one of the more fun players to watch when she’s on the court because of her intense defense.  Brook can steal the ball from anyone that she’s defending and then she can take it to the opposite end of the court and finish strong. All in all, Brooke brings a lot to the court and she will be one of the leading players for team Muggsy.
