Well, the Pittsburgh Steelers are currently 11-1, meaning they’re tied for the best record in the NFL. They are a very good team but just look at their schedule. It is a piece of cake for them. They haven’t had a very impressive win so far. I don’t think they’re a bad team by any means, but their record may not do justice. Regardless, what has brought the Steelers to such success?
Something really important for the Black and Gold Brigade has been everything settling down. What I mean is they aren’t in the headlines every day for being a disastrous football team who can’t keep themselves together. It feels like ages ago, but the 2018 Steelers with Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell and much more shenanigans has really just left the team. Even the 2019 Steelers were a big mess. Big Ben Roethlisberger, Juju Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, James Conner, and Eric Ebron are players that make this offense different from 2019. Not to even mention their incredible defense that’s been consistently great for the past few years. With players like T.J. Watt, Bud Dupree, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Cam Heyward, the list goes on, but this is the best defense in the NFL. So say what you want, but this is a pretty complete football team.
Mike Tomlin is why the Steelers are what they are. A coach since 2007 and has never had a losing season. Why isn’t Tomlin talked about more? I mean, last year he had nothing to work with and still went 8-8, so especially this year with the schedule they have, this shows his skills. I don’t think he’ll win Coach of the Year, but he’s been consistently excellent.
Will the Steelers continue their path of success? Are they Super Bowl contenders? Or, are they the Pittsburgh Phonies? Stay tuned.
